On Wednesday, Californian senate approved, bill S.B 822 forward by Sen. Scott Wiener about "restoring net neutrality" with the majority of 23 to 12, which now will be forwarded to the state Assembly.

In Obama's term, Federal Communications Commission approved a measure to remove the tough net neutrality rules to prevent internet providers from blocking and throttling traffic and offering paid fast lanes.

But later in Trump administration, On December 14, 2017 the new state department director Ajit pai was succeeded in implementing against the freedom of net neutrality with the narrow voting margin of 3-2. After that states starts implementing their own Internet rules as well as 20 attorneys general sued the commission before the order was even published. Some governors attempted to use executive orders, while others worked with legislators. But after that in March, Senator Scott Wiener proposed a bill against the decision which after reviewing by three committees is now being forwarded to the state Assembly

Previously, Wiener also bashed Trump administration of ridiculing the net neutrality which was proposed by Obama Administration only two years ago to give the people full freedom over their Internet Access without third party interference.

Now if the bill get succeeded in Assembly, then it would be a huge relief for Net users, however it seems difficult since the Republicans has the majority.
